Saving Money With Peter And Paul
Tax Preparation Services

Someone once told me, one of my parents I think, that it doesn't make any sense to borrow from Peter to pay Paul. Well, I've been thinking about that advice recently, I have to reconsider, because if Peter is offering me a lower rate of interest than what I am getting from Paul, whom I have borrowed from, it would make more sense to me to get Paul paid off as quickly as possible, and then pay off Peter, whom isn't costing me as much in monthly charges. Ideally, I would rather not have to owe to either Peter or Paul, but I needed the money to pay someone else, and there the story gets to be rather long.

So now if I apply this Peter/Paul wisdom to my other bills and payments, I figure I could reduce and eventually eliminate much of my debt, even if it means getting into more debt to it. Why not? People consolidate their bills and payments all the time. And if I'm paying too much in interest payments and service charges, it would make sense to get a line or credit, a bank overdraft, or other form of loan (at a lower interest rate), in order to pay off all of the Pauls. If it were for a short-term solution, it might even make sense for me to examine the services of those higher interest payday loans companies, only if there circumstances were right, and I could justify the loan, such as if I were at risk of bouncing checks, or getting saddled with reconnection fees or other unreasonable charges associated with missing a payment from another Paul. In this case, the payday loan provider, which would normally be a Paul, could turn into a Peter.

Avoid Some Paperwork With Online Tax Filing
Online Tax Returns

If you're like me, you dread the thought of filing and preparing your income tax return. Like preparing your English essay for your final school grades, you know that you're worried about screwing up your paperwork and failing your exam. Only, unlike your English paper, if you "fail" your tax return, it's likely going to cost you money.

Getting all the paperwork to do your tax filing is also a pain the ass, not only for you, the tax filer, but also for the government. Encouraging and promoting online tax return filing is more efficient for them, and guess what--it can be for you too!

Online tax returns can be done using your home Internet connection and suitable tax preparation software, such as QuickTax or CanTax. Yes, you're going to pay a little bit of money for the tax preparation software, but this is still going to be cheaper than seeing an accountant, bookkeeper, or an income tax preparer, like the Cashback people from H&R Block.

Turbo Tax
Tax Software

TurboTax is an American tax software package. There are a number of different versions, including TurboTax Deluxe, TurboTax Premier, etc. TurboTax is available for both Federal and state income tax returns. The software is designed to guide users through their tax returns step-by-step. TurboTax became an Intuit product via the 1993 acquisition of its creator, the California-based company Chipsoft. In 2003 Intuit faced vocal criticism for its TurboTax activation scheme.

The company responded by removing the product activation scheme from its product. In 2005 TurboTax extended its offering by allowing any taxpayer to use a basic version of its Federal product for free as part of the Free File Alliance. By 2006 that offer has been limited to Free federal online tax prep & e-file for taxpayers whose adjusted gross income is $28,500 or less (or $52,000 for those in the military), and those 50 or under.
